Haynes Robinson has been immersed in the oriental carpet trade most of his life. Sweeping the floors of a local dealer as a 15-year-old student gave him an appreciation of carpet as art. It appealed to his passion for design and color. And origins of the rugs spoke of adventure, nurturing an emerging passion for travel.

His first commercial venture came while he was still in college, a partnership with his mother, a noted Atlanta interior designer. As Rugs by Robinson Ltd., their original-style designs became enormously popular, and were commissioned by many of the city’s leading design professionals.

Today, Rugs by Robinson is nationally renowned both as a purveyor of antique oriental carpets and designer of innovative new products. Haynes has been traveled the world establishing carpet productions in China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkey and Persia.

Haynes Robinson lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. His work has been featured in magazines such as Veranda and Southern Accents, in newspapers including The Wall Street Journal and The Atlanta Journal Constitution, and in Emmett Eiland’s book Oriental Carpets Today. He is a five-time winner of the America’s Magnificent Carpet Award.
